Catholic Charities Financial and Housing Counseling assists individuals and families as they take control of their finances and plan for a secure financial future. A qualified Financial Counselor works with each client to develop an individualized plan to reach his or her goals. A full spectrum of services is offered on a variety of topics, including:

• Financial Management including Budgeting, Credit, Debt, Goal-setting
• Housing - Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention, Reverse Mortgages
• Debt Management Services
• Financial Education
• Pre-Bankruptcy Course-Credit Counseling Assessment
• Post-Bankruptcy Course- Credit Counseling Assessment

Eligibility, Fees, Service area

Catholic Charities is approved to issue certificates in compliance with the Bankruptcy Code* through the Department of Justice's United States Trustee Program. Catholic Charities is also a U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Housing Counseling Agency, specializing in Mortgage Foreclosure Prevention and Reverse Mortgage Counseling.

Services are available to all eligible persons regardless of race, color, creed, religion, national origin, gender, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, or age. Services are provided throughout the sixteen Central Minnesota counties that comprise the Diocese of St. Cloud. Fees for our services are based on a person's ability to pay, and no one is refused financial counseling services because of an inability to pay.
