Chemical Awareness and Support Services (CASS)

Assessing, evaluating, coordinating, planning, and counseling for chemical abuse

Though the St. Cloud Children's Home does not offer chemical dependency treatment, youth are offered services in regard to their substance abuse history through the Chemical Awareness Counselor. The Chemical Awareness Counselor is responsible for assessing, evaluating, coordinating, planning, educating, and counseling residents. These services are coordinated with Youth Counselors and Therapists in each cottage to assist the child in overcoming the effects of substance use, abuse, and dependency as a part of their overall treatment plan. The Chemical Awareness Counselor maintains a resource network for community reintegration.
