Gardening Helpers
Program Served:

St. Cloud Children's Home

The St. Cloud Children's Home, a program of Catholic Charities', helps youth between the ages of 8 -18 years old who are experiencing significant emotional challenges. The children receive academic education, and a variety of therapeutic services including individual and family therapy, recreational therapy, spiritual guidance, vocational guidance, and structured daily living in a residential cottage setting.
Primary Duties:
The volunteer will work with a student in planting the garden. Volunteers are needed more to share their knowledge than to do the actual gardening work.
Location: 
St. Cloud Children's Home, 1726 7th Ave S, St. Cloud, MN 56301
Hours: 
One or two afternoons a week (from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m.) in planting a vegetable garden. The volunteer will work with a student in planting the garden. Volunteers are needed more to share their knowledge than to do the actual gardening work.
   
Qualifications:
 
Experience: 
1) Vegetable Gardening knowledge or expertise
2) Interest and comfort level in working with children
3) Need to maintain confidentiality

Duration:
To end of growing/harvesting season.
