Bike on one of the areas most beautiful trails to benefit charity.

The eigth annual Lake Wobegon® Regional Trail Ride, a family fun event (not a race), will wind its way through the communities along the Lake Wobegon Regional Trail starting in St. Joseph and ending in Sauk Centre on Saturday, September 7, 2013. This biking event promises to draw hundreds of riders to our Central Minnesota community for a day of family fun and exercise in behalf of a great cause—helping some of our area’s children.

Donation to ride is $30, $35 day of the ride. Additional fund raising is encouraged, but not required. Ask family, friends, and/or neighbors if they would like to contribute to this great cause. (If you choose to do additional fund raising we have provided a pledge sheet for your use.)

The primary beneficiary of the Lake Wobegon® Ride is Catholic Charities St. Cloud Children’s Home, a residential treatment home for youth at risk, ages 8-18, who are receiving individual/family counseling and learning healthy coping skills at a critical time in their adolescence. The St. Cloud Children’s Home enables young people who are at-risk to have an opportunity to turn their lives around. These children come to the Children’s Home having previously experienced multiple failures in their family, school, and/or community. The St. Cloud Children’s Home has a long tradition serving children in need.

Donations to the Lake Wobegon® Ride are of two kinds: undesignated and designated. Undesignated gifts go directly to the Children’s Home. Designated gifts allow riders to name a local participating faith community, those actively supporting the effort with volunteers and fundraising, which will receive up to 50% of the designated gift, with the other half supporting the Children’s Home.

The local participating faith communities which will get to determine how proceeds they recieve will best benefit their immediate area. Thanks to volunteer workers, who are donating their time, skills and the materials needed, all of the proceeds from the Ride will be allocated for charitable purposes.

Pre-Registration is preferred and ends on August 31, 2013.

After August 31, you are still welcome to ride, but please register the day of the event at an official starting point along the trail.

Choose one of three official starting places along I-94:
• St. Joseph (check in at 8:30 a.m. for a 9 a.m. start)
• Avon (check in between 10 and 10:30 a.m.)
• Melrose (check in between 10 and 10:30 a.m.)

• Park your vehicle at the respective trailhead. Follow signs that will direct you to trailhead parking.
  
  
• Check-in at registration, receive your official ride wristband and get your place at the starting line.
  
  
• Rides will be provided between 1 and 2:30 p.m. from Sauk Centre. Transportation from any other location or times are responsibility of the rider(s).
  
  
• Light refreshments and portable toilets will be available at regular intervals throughout the ride. Refreshments will be provided in Sauk Centre from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. following the ride.
