Residential services for adults with mental illness provide community-based assistance for adults with severe and persistent mental illness. St. Margaret's and St. Michael's adult foster care homes, located in St. Cloud, Minnesota, offer private, individual rooms for up to four persons per household, staffed 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

Living arrangement creates a sense of competence

All supervised services are designed to promote social independence and productivity while assuring safety and community integration.

Residents treated with dignity as they build skills

  • Daily living skills such as cooking, laundry, and house cleaning
  • Survival living skills such as proper diet, medication management, medical health care, and personal hygiene
  • Independent living skills such as checkbook management, bill paying, community integration, securing/maintaining a job
  • Behavior management skills such as anger management, feeling identification, and relationship building
  • Social skills such as interpersonal communications (with family, friends, acquaintances, co-workers, authority figures), grooming, politeness/etiquette, cooperation, compromise, conflict resolution, respect for personal space
