Catholic Charities Statement on St. Cloud Children's Home Fire

Apr 07, 2021

Catholic Charities, a longtime tenant of the St. Cloud Children’s Home owned by the Diocese of St. Cloud, is aware of an early morning fire on the property. The Diocese of St. Cloud sold the St. Cloud Children’s Home property in the fall of 2020. In preparation for the transition to new ownership, Catholic Charities relocated the last of their programs from the St. Cloud Children’s Home to a new location in Sauk Rapids in December 2020.

“We are grateful that no client services are currently being offered on the St. Cloud Children’s Home property, especially residential services,” said Steve Pareja, executive director of Catholic Charities. “At this time, we do not know the extent of the fire, but our prayers are with the firefighters and first responders as they work to extinguish the fire.”
