Foster Grandparent Cheri Rises to the Challenge

The past two years with Covid have provided many challenges for Foster Grandparents regarding their service, but for some it has provided opportunity.

Grandma Cheri was concerned about the safety of physically being at school, but she still wanted to help students in Swanville. Rising to the challenge, Grandma Cheri and her classroom teacher, Jolaineah Waltman, worked out a plan and Grandma Cheri began serving virtually, meeting with students over Skype. While Cheri is not physically in the classroom, her presence is still felt and benefitted by all.
