Foster Grandparent Double-Duty
Grandma Kathy has been doing double duty as a Foster Grandparent; she divides her time volunteering between Talahi Community School and Promise Neighborhood.
Her reason behind becoming a volunteer with the Foster Grandparent Program nearly 3 years ago, “I like kids and I like reading. It is important for every child to learn to read.” Her favorite aspect of the program, she shares with a smile, “Working with the kids.”
Grandma Kathy has found another added benefit of volunteering; “It gets everyone out of the house and in the community!”
