RSVP, Foster Grandparents and Senior Companions Joined Together to Show Appreciation to First Responders in Central Minnesota

Sep 17, 2021

9/11 National Day of Service and Remembrance is a day to honor those impacted by the September 11 attacks.

Our combined AmeriCorps Seniors Day of Service was a great success. Volunteers from RSVP, Catholic Charities Central MN Foster Grandparent Program and the AmeriCorps Senior Companion program were able to show appreciation to a wide group of Central Minnesota first responders.

The AmeriCorps seniors worked together to assemble care baskets that were distributed to first responders throughout Central Minnesota. Click here to see images from the event and view the Day of Service in action!

Catholic Charities Central MN Foster Grandparent Program offers seniors, ages 55 and over, the opportunity to work with students in local schools, or other nonprofit agencies, with children who need extra assistance. Typically school “Grandmas” and “Grandpas” work one-on-one with kids who need some extra support and love. To learn more visit the Foster Grandparent webpageto learn more.
